Do you have those days where all of your plans were turned upside down and you didn’t get anything accomplished? Well today was one of those days for me where life got in the way and I had to deal with it. I had to take my dog Lady, who’s had back issues for a long time, to a vet emergency and surgical center. It took up almost my entire day and I had to cancel three appointments. When things happen that are out of our control we have to find ways to make use of any available time. Since I had about a 2 hour period while they were having an MRI done on her I was able to run some errands in the area which I was planning on doing later on in the week. Was also able to check emails on my iPhone and reschedule some appointments.
How we handle unexpected situations makes a difference. It was something that had to be dealt with so why beat myself up? Fortunately I am self-employed and was in a position to take care of the issue. The worst thing you can do is to panic and get frantic. Set up priorities of what needs to be done to take care of the unexpected wrench in your plans. How do you handle unexpected situations? Do you have a system in place or someone you can turn to for help? How do you get back on track?
